Monsklimb
Monsklimb is a game for mobile devices, developed for an external client during the Game Lab course of the International Game Architecture and Design study program at NHTV University.
We developed a prototype 2D climbing game targeted at children of the age of 9 to 12 year and incorporated the client's franchise. The game is a vertical platforming game where the player must guide two mountain climbers up the side of a mountain. One climber can only hold to rock and the other one can only hold onto ice. They are tied together by a rope and can swing freely as long as one of them holds on to a surface. The player has to make sure he avoids obstacles like avalanches, or logs which the rope can get tangled around.
For this game I worked on the rope physics and general gameplay elements.
